Tunisia’s economy is more than 5 years after the revolution in a very difficult situation. A large number of young Tunisians struggle to find decent jobs and many only find work in the informal sector. The economic system urgently need reform to move away from its focus on supply-side capitalism. Tunisia’s social systems are increasingly underfinanced. This publication (in German) explores the possibilities for economic reform with the aim to enhance social justice and strengthen the economic output and the possibilities that Germany and the EU possess to assist Tunisia in this difficult, but necessary task.
