Family Law in the MENA Region

This study seeks to shed light on the personal status laws in Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, the Palestinian Territories, Sudan, Syria and Tunisia. Each article looks at the origins of the law as well as recent reforms and the affect they have on citizens in general and women in particular. Each article attempts to illuminate the current debates within society and among feminists on family law, proposed reforms and where the government or different (religious) interest groups stand on the issue.
